If your child did not attend school today, or you took courses through distance education this year, you can visit our office before 3:30 p.m. today or between the hours of 8:15 a.m. and Noon tomorrow to receive your final report card.

We thank all of our applicants for their interest in our summer school program. Due to the increased demand, we are now full in ALL CORE COURSES (this includes all levels of Math, Sciences, English and Social Studies). Our waitlists for these courses are also full. You may still apply for CALM and all other options that we are currently offering.
If you are not sure if your application has been accepted, please check your grasslands email account or the email address provided at the time of applying, or call the school at (403) 793-2025. Please note our office hours are as follows:

We have our final bi-monthly swimming day of the year at the JBS Centre tomorrow from 2-3 pm. Please ensure students that want to participate bring their swimsuit and towels. A reminder to our Sunrise families that there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, May 15th and Monday, May 18th. We look forward to seeing our students on Tuesday!
Grasslands Public Schools will be conducting a Herbicide Program to control weeds on School Grounds and other School Division properties. The program will commence on May 22 and run until May 24, pending weather.
All herbicide applications will be in strict accordance with all regulations established by Alberta Environment, and rates will be at Federally approved label recommendations.
Herbicide warning signs will be placed on all treated Division Property. Please stay off treated areas until signs are removed.

We are excited to offer our students an end-of-year celebration at Bassano Pool again this year! We will be going in the afternoon on Thursday, June 18th during regular school hours. PERMISSION FORMS ARE DUE BY FRIDAY, MAY 22nd. Please submit these to your teacher or to Chelsea in the office. If you have not received a form you can stop by the office or call (403) 793-2025.

We are excited to announce that, thanks to the support of President’s Choice Children’s Charity, all students have had daily access to healthy food through our Power Full Kids | Eat Well program this year.
This grant supports:
A daily breakfast program for all students.
Healthy in-class snacks (fruit/vegetable/granola).
Nutritious snacks for school field trips.
Throughout the year students have participated in Mealtime Moments—educational activities and discussions about healthy eating.

Due to limited numbers, we have cancelled the Jr. High field trip to Lethbridge Polytechnic on May 12th. As such, this day will be regular school scheduling. Stay tuned for information on our year-end field trip for Sunrise!

To all of our distance education students; please note that the deadline for your course work to be completed is Friday, June 5th. These courses will NOT be extended into Summer School or into our September term. We ask that you ensure you are dedicating time to completing these courses and turning in assignments for marking as soon as they are completed.
Sunrise Summer School Applications are now open. Please note that all expressions of interest must be submitted DIGITALLY by scanning the attached QR code or visiting our Summer School tab and clicking on the link. You cannot apply in person at Sunrise School. The complete list of offered courses is attached and spaces may be limited. A favourite amongst students, we are excited for our senior high classes to attend StageWest on Wednesday, May 6th. Located in Calgary, StageWest offers a buffet brunch and matinee musical. This year our students will be enjoying "A New Sound in Town" which is musical revue that explores the evolution and cross-pollination of musical genres over the decades.

On Tuesday, May 12th, our students in Grades 7, 8 and 9 have the opportunity to attend Lethbridge Polytechnic to participate in the Southern Alberta Collegiate Institute - E3 Program. Students will explore careers and training available in the areas of Trades, Agriculture and Health Care. Students will be bringing home a letter with the itinerary as well as required permission slips.
