Katie Graham has been appointed as Assistant Superintendent - Learning Services for Grasslands Public Schools
The Board of Trustees is pleased to announce that Katie Graham has been appointed as Assistant Superintendent - Learning Services for Grasslands Public Schools effective August 12, 2020.
Jody Trembecki, Chair of the Board of Trustees for Grasslands Public Schools, commented, “As trustees, we were looking for a leader who demonstrates honesty, integrity, and passion in support of success for all students within our very diverse school community. Katie’s dedication to Grasslands and our students is second to none. She is a team player, who is committed to building on her strong relationships, and her skills as an instructional leader firmly support the three key areas of action of the Grasslands’ strategic plan - Student Learning, Inclusive and Healthy Learning Environments, and School and Community Relationships. Superintendent Scott Brandt added, “ I am very excited to have Katie join our senior leadership team. Katie
exemplifies the great leadership we have within our division. Katie’s leadership strengths ensure continuity and alignment with our vision of learning and public education. As well, her understanding of curriculum and instruction from kindergarten to grade 12 is a tremendous asset. I look forward to her leadership and contributions to our schools and communities across our jurisdiction.”
Katie Graham is well known to those in Grasslands. She has served Grasslands’ students and staff for 15 years as a teacher, vice principal and principal. Katie has a Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Lethbridge, a Bachelor of Education with a focus on Social Studies and English as a Second Language from the University of Alberta, and a Bachelor of Arts, History, from the University of Lethbridge.
Mrs. Graham states that “I am excited and honoured for the opportunity to continue to build on the substantial strengths of Grasslands’ schools. We have a strong community of learners and I eagerly anticipate working and learning alongside our amazing students and staff.”
